Toy safety and care guide

Wooden toys are built for busy hands, but every toy needs a little care. Here's how to get the most out of yours safely.

Check the age guidance first

Each product page shows the age guidance and any warnings supplied by the manufacturer. Please follow it. Some toys include small parts, beads or mallets that are not suitable for children under 3. If you can't find the information you need, email us before you order.

Before first play

• Remove all packaging, plastic bags, ties and labels, and keep them away from children.
• Check that every part is secure and there are no loose pieces, splinters or sharp edges.
• Read and keep any instructions or warnings that come in the box.

During play

• Always supervise young children while they play.
• Use mallets and sticks for tapping the toy, not for throwing or putting in the mouth.
• Keep toys meant for older children away from babies and younger siblings.

Check toys regularly

Look over wooden toys every so often for cracks, loose parts, peeling paint or worn edges. If a toy is damaged, stop using it and contact us.

Cleaning and care

• Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap, then dry straight away.
• Don't soak wooden toys or put them in the dishwasher, as water can make wood swell or crack.
• Store toys indoors, away from direct heat and damp.
